A Fleet of Computers

Running one home server is easy enough.

It becomes harder as you add more computers. Networking tends to trip many users up, for example. Even if you're just connecting a laptop and a smartphone to WiFi in your house, you have a "fleet" of computers.

A System Administrator, SysAdmin, or SysOp is:

[...] a person who is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems; especially multi-user computers, such as servers.

What You Can Expect

This skill assumes you're already comfortable running a home server, but not much more.

I'll do my best to make everything as step-by-step as possible, using screen captures and other media to help where possible. I am providing this course out of desire to help others approach some daunting topics. But I count on your gracious feedback to help adjust explanations and examples where needed. I'll do my best, but computers change rapidly!

By the end, I'll turn toward some IOT and other fun uses of a fleet of computers.

If you have any feedback or requests, you can contact me directly.
